BAD NEWS APPLE FANS

the new iPhone 7 ‘won’t have a headphone port

Bad news, Apple fans - the new iPhone 7 'won't have a headphone port'

Apple’s quest to make iPhones slimmer and slimmer could be about to claim a new casualty – the headphone socket.
Sources in Apple’s supply chain claim that the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus won’t have a headphone socket at all, according to Chinese news sites.
Instead, headphones will plug in via the Lightning connector – or connect wirelessly Bluetooth.
It’s expected the new phone will ship with wireless headphones – but it would mean that ‘normal’ headphones wouldn’t work with the handset.
If true, it would mean that millions of iPhone users would have to upgrade their headphones, or use an adapter.
Many people aren’t happy – in fact, there’s already a petition doing the rounds.
Headphones which plug in via the port are already on sale – such as Philips’ M2L cans – which offer better sound quality by using the port’s power to drive a built-in amplifier and digital-analogue converter (DAC).
If true, users could also opt for wireless Bluetooth headphones – or use an adapter to attach older headphone jacks.
Otherwise, people would have to fork out for new cans – which could be pricey, as Philips’ M2Ls come in at £200.
