4 YEARS, 12 ATTACKS : A TIMELINE OF TERROR IN FRANCE.
In 2012, a series of deadly motorcycle shootings that killed
three paratroopers, a rabbi and three young children outside of a Jewish
school in Toulouse heightened emotions and drew the world's attention
to the increasing incidence of terror in France. In the four years
since, so many young Frenchmen have gone to fight alongside ISIS in Iraq
and Syria that organizations like the International Center for the
Study of Radicalization and Political Violence have begun keeping count.
In September 2015, French Prime Minister Valls placed the figure at
1,800 fighters, giving valuable context for the wave of terror attacks
that have plagued the country over the last four years:

- March 11-22, 2012 -- Toulouse and Montauban: 8 killed, 5 injured
- May 23, 2013 -- Paris: 1 injured
- December 20, 2014 -- Tours: 1 killed, 3 injured
- January 7-9, 2015 -- Paris (Charlie Hebdo): 20 killed, 22 injured
- February 3, 2015 -- Nice: 3 injured
- April 19, 2015 -- Villejuif: 1 killed
- June 26, 2015 -- Saint-Quentin-Fallavier: 1 killed, 2 injured
- August 21, 2015 -- Thalys train: 4 injured
- November 13-14, 2015 -- Paris: 130 killed, 368 injured
- November 18, 2015 -- Marseille: 1 injured
- January 7, 2016 -- Paris: 1 killed
- January 11, 2016 -- Marseille: 1 injured
