APPLE ADMITS IPHONE 6S BUG MAKES BATTERY METER INACCURATE.
Battery issues? Apple admits iPhone 6S bug makes battery meter inaccurate
Have you noticed your iPhone's battery meter lying?
If you use an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus
and you have been experiencing battery problems, you aren’t alone. The
good news is the issue doesn’t appear to have to do with the battery
itself, but a software bug that affects the accuracy of your phone’s
battery meter.
According to a statement issued on Apple’s support website, if you
change the time on your iPhone 6S or 6S Plus manually, or change time
zones when travelling, the battery meter could fail to update. In other
words, your phone might show that it has 75 per cent of its battery left
— but in reality, it could be close to dying.
Other users have reported their battery meter gets stuck.
The
company said it is working on a fix. In the meantime, if you are
experiencing the bug, Apple suggests turning your phone on and off
and then checking to make sure the automatic time setting within the
“Date & Time” settings is turned on.
This isn’t the first
time Apple has had issues linked to its date and time settings. For many
years, iPhone users were burned by the Daylight Saving bug, which
turned off users’ alarms making them late for work.
