THIS $240 PHONE HAS A BATTERY THAT LAST 15 DAYS.

The iPhone 6S, LG G4, and Samsung Galaxy S6 are all very nice smartphones — powerful ones, too. But this new $240 phone runs circles around them when it comes to battery life.
Oukitel (who you’ve probably never heard of before) will soon start selling the K10000. The number on the end is not, amazingly, an indication that there have been 9,999 other Okitel K phones. It’s there to tell you how much juice it packs: a whopping 10,000mAh.
That’s enough to keep it running for as long as 15 days, according to Oukitel. And unlike those cheap-and-cheerful Nokias we’ve shared with you in the past, this isn’t a featurephone. It’s an Android smartphone with a 5.5-inch display. If you’ve been screaming for someone to stop worrying about how much thinner they can make a phone and just give you a giant battery already, the K10000 might be for you.
You will, however, be making some trade-offs. This is a $240 phone that’s built for endurance first, after all. It’s shouldn’t come as a surprise that the other components Oukitel stuck in the K10000 are far less exciting. The 1GHz quad-core Mediatek chip isn’t going to smash any benchmark records and that 5.5-inch display has a native resolution of 1280 x 720. Its 8 megapixel shooter is serviceable, and while the K10000 does support LTE it may not handle the bands you need it to.
But hey, for $240 outright this could be a great phone to take with you on your travels. If you’re packing a mirrorless or DSLR camera anyway and don’t want to worry about recharging your phone every day, the K10000 might be worth checking out when it launches next month.
